Real-time Graph Controls

Finance

Our data visualisation components have been used in number of financial applications. One such application is to monitor tick-level stock prices in real time. Unlike most other systems, our 2D Graph Control allows for full interactivity such as scrolling, scaling and analysis of live values using data cursor and range markers. All of those features available in real time when live data is streamed and the timeline progresses automatically.

Real-time Graph of stock price

Here our 3D Graph Control has been customised to display live market depth of stocks traded at ASX (Australian Stock Exchange). Different price levels are displayed across the graph. These levels change in real time as traders change their orders. In peak activity there can be hundreds of market depth changes per second. Our 3D Graph Control displays those changes and also caches them in user-defined intervals building a historical (time) series of market depth information. This presents an invaluable information for traders and brokers.

Mining

3D Graph Control has applications in other industries too. Coal mining requires expensive machinery called longwall. Longwalls automatically collect coal from underground and operate under support of numerous columns. It is the pressure on those columns that needs to be monitored with great precision as the long wall progresses underground. 3D Graph Control can monitor those pressures and display the data in real time as well as historically. The ability to have a "virtual window" on a group from about 200 columns allows precise data monitoring and analysis.

Pipeline Monitoring

There are many applications similar to longwall. Pipelines are another example where an operator needs to monitor pressures along the whole pipeline. Numerous sensors feed information that is displayed on a 3D Graph Control. The real-time measurement is then captured and historical values are also displayed allowing accurate inspection of data.

Remote Monitoring and Control of Producton Processes

Now operators can control and monitor production processes remotely using a range of the latest hand-held PCs running Microsoft Windows PC 2002 operating system and .NET Framework. Based on this technology we have built applications allowing real-time trending (charting), alarms and interaction with industrial equipment.
