3D Graph Control

The 3D Graph Control is a real-time and historical data visualisation COM component. It allows x and y series of z values to be displayed. Usually one of the series is against time, for example a pressure in a pipeline may be monitored in different locations and displayed as a time series.3D display is beneficial when numerous data series need to be monitored simultaneously. Advanced "virtual window" function allows displaing only a portion of the data range at a time while still monitoring the entire data set.

Features

  • Virtual window on data. The picture below shows a data log of a Longwall (used for coal mining) operation. Each bar represents a pressure measurement on each of nearly 200 roof supports. The Virtual Window feature allows traversing accross the entire range while displaying details of a small section at a time. Size of the window can be easily changed to display more or less detail as desired.

  • Compatible Video Hardware/Drivers:

  • We have found a number of sub-standard video cards/drivers and OpenGL implementations to cause problems. For example, ATI Rage family of video cards have some severe bugs in their OpenGL support software. Also, a number of Dell PCs have been found to have serious bugs in the video card driver often resulting in operating system crash (blue sceen of death). We recommend using Matrox video cards, Compaq PCs and Microsoft standard implementation of OpenGL. To find out your vendor of OpenGL library and the software version you can run 3D Graph Control from this website. The control should display this information in the left top corner. If you encounter problems (or are a Dell computer user), please contact your hardware vendor to rectify the problem as it is most likely related to your video card or accelerated OpenGL driver.
